Anybody here bought a Mito from Western Alfa in Edinburgh recently?
I'm on the verge of ordering a Mito from there!:D:D:D
But i'd like to know if anybody has managed to get any good discounts and a rough idea on the waiting time i'm expecting??

I'd also like to mention that the service provided by Western Edinburgh has been absolutely 1st class so far - Very friendly and knowledgable and i've already had two test drives unsupervised each for two hours!:D

Any info would be great!:D

Hi,

Yes I bought my MiTo from Western Edinburgh - so far the service has been good ( but I haven't has to take the car back for anything yet!) I picked it up last Monday and was told by the sales man that I would get a courtsey call in a few days time but I'm still waiting.

As for prices etc, they would not move on the list price but I went for PCP they started at about 12.5 % but with a bit of stalling and using an English dealer I managed to get them down to about 10.5% APR.

Cheers.
Rugbys.

What specs and colour did you go for?
I don't think i will be able to get any discounts on it either, but i'm gona try and get them to part exchange my 3 year old Clio in for more.
How long did you have to wait for it? I'm on the verge of ordering soon - in Graphite Grey!:D

We went in for a test drive in Western Edinburgh just over a week ago and decided to go with a Mito, picked ours from a list of Mito's which had an "immediate" delivery status and fits in our budget and very quick delivery. We weren't quite fussed with extras as we are getting ours through scrappage so anything would be million miles better drive then our 15 years old Citroen. Therefore we went for a Black Mito 1.4 16V 95bhp Veloce. Car arrived to dealer at last Tuesday and supposed to hit bodyshop tomorrow to get Supagarded and number plate fitted etc.

The person who deals with our file has been very friendly and knowledgable and certainly we don't have any complaints. Quite satisfied so far in fact. Key handover is this Tuesday or Wednesday. SO I will write more about the rest of the experience.

Unfortunately, buying a new car is a new experience for us as a result, we didn't think to ask for any discounts at the time :( So I am hoping for some freebie's that other people did mentioned when they collected their own Mito's.

When I was looking at a new car, approx 10 weeks ago I phoned them to see if they had a Mito in the showroom. I spoke to the sales manager who asked my name and what time I would be over. I gave him my name and a time and he assured me a salesman would look out for me and show me round the car when I arrived.

Great I thought.

Arrived there and went into the showroom. There were 3 salesmen on, all of which were following a Gucci bag carrying woman and her hubby (in a suit) round a top of the range Brera. Now I dont know if it was the fact I was in jeans, arrived in a Kia (Im not a badge snob), had my son with me, or the fact that my accent is west central Scotland - but not one came near me despite the fact they ALL saw me. Now Im not exactly Rab C Nesbitt but after 15 minutes I said very loudly "come on son, lets go get a Gucci manbag so one of these ***** will speak to us". At that one did start to make his way over, but too late, im off. In hindsight maybe it was to escort me off the premises.

I was VERY disappointed in their attitude.

Luckily I lease my cars through work so i wont let their narrowmindedness put me off the Mito, however if I was buying the car I would then have gine to the Perth branch, and if they had the same attitude I would not have been buying a Mito!!!

They were very good when I wanted to test drive the different Mito models. Very friendly and returned calls.

However when it came to do the deal they couldn't match my trade in price from a mini dealer and they had loaded the finance quote with superguard/payment protection/tyre cover and the term was a year longer than the mini even though I'd told them what I had gotten at the other dealers and didn't want any extras on the finance.

Pity.

I will be ordering my Mito sometime this week from the dealer. So i hope i don't encounter any problems with my trade in Clio... The corporate manager David Stead has been very friendly so far. I've yet to complain about the service. So let's hope it continues like this!:D
Let's hope they give me a good deal!!!
I saw a red Mito the other day. Bloke with glasses... wonder if it's anyone here? lol!

Picking up ours MiTo tomorrow from Western - fingers crossed everything is alright with it!

No complaints regarding the service. Our salesperson has been very professional, and friendly, even during the frustrating day of missing each others phone calls. Anyway, signed up my 7-day insurance, got my registration number.... now if only someone can convince Misa to be a little less excited about picking up our MiTo maybe we can get some sleep :)

Oh and I WILL NOT miss our 15 year old I-can't-believe-it's-actually-still-running Citroen AX Spree. They certainly made those tin cans to last! It swear, it is the undead-zombie of cars. Wonder if we get to ritualistically torch it or something? This government scrappage scheme has been a god-send (£2000 for a car worth £200 tops)...

:D Well Misa and I picked ours up at 2:30, with apologies from our salesperson for not doing the reveal in the showroom as they had zero space, and out to the parking lot we go... Something even MORE awesome about seeing a MiTo prowling across a carpark towards you like some sort of feline when it's YOUR car!

Hand over was great. Service was fab. We got our "welcome to Alfa" pack with the Cloverleaf membership and Alfa history book, the Supaguard car care kit and all the rest of the stuff... plenty to read :)

I couldn't recommend these chaps more - in particular our salesperson Ewan, who was all I'd want from car sales man (straight talking, to the point, friendly, not pushy etc etc).

Service at Western in Edinburgh is excellent, though sales never seem interested in doing a deal.

At each juncture, I PM'd David Whitton through this site, he runs Piccadilly Alfa just down the A1 in Knaresborough, he is interested, and as a result we have travelled to get 2 new cars from him in the last 3 years.

I did find Western Glasgow a bit more interested than Edinburgh, but open about whre they werent prepared to go on price.

Service Reception is good in Glasgow, though the workshop itself is a bit hit and miss.

Andrew's not a bad lad either, :thumbs::D
Yeah I dealt with Andrew twice with my previous MiTo's but he's not there now.

Last time I went up I was gonna buy either a 147 or a MiTo QV and got a price for my MiTo which tbh I didn't think was great. Waited a few months, went to Glasgow they gave me a far better price plus I had the MD Sale Invitation so bought my QV from there. Plus it's easier for me to take my car to Glasgow if it needs fixed/serviced.

Service

I bought a gulietta from them in 2010, seven months in and less than 2,500 miles on the clock the gear box failed, in four days and got back it failed again. There have been a number of issues with the vehicle every 4-5 months. The rear windscreen wiper has now failed and the gearbox has failed again and there isn't even 11,500 miles on the clock yet. The customer service has been appalling, absolutely no apologies just been told its unfortunate (and believe me that is not what you want to hear). Western Alfa was all over me like a rash desperate for the sale but when car has failed repeatedly they are not interested. Industry awards have shown that Alfa have dropped 6 places in a year, now down to 27/30. I would not buy another Alfa even if it was the only vehicle available to me, yes nice cars but absolutely no substance and you cannot rely on them.
