Hi,

I've just bought an Alfa 147 and live in the Leicester area. Can anybody recommend any places to take it for servicing. It's a 2003 model so want to avoid Leicester's main dealership due to cost.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

There's an Indy in the Notts area, very Alfa speacialist and very competitive, I've forgotten who and where they are, I'll Google it and post up.

Keep away from Stealerships, I've had my one and only service from Donalds, £600, a total rip off, they also charged me £122 for a CV Gaiter and Hand Brake Cable, the Dick Turpins of Peterborough...............................

Thanks for the info. My fiancee looked into it on google too and Interservice came up. I think they have changed their name but I now have an address.

Many thanks

Intaservices are the guys in Vulcan Road. One of the very best. I'd trust them with my house (and our Alfa's).

THATS NOT FAIR!

We still do our job properly and the only wrong thing we did for you is not have a member of staff clean your car. In which they tried resolving but you refused.

Jason, will you STOP taking it personally.

My experience with Donalds was shocking, overpriced, an additional £122 to fit a CV Gaiter Clip and one Handbrake Cable (Service Advisor told me it wouldn't be too much as clip is pennies and cable £18) whilst they were doing a Cam Belt Service. Very bad Customer Service, I have had better service from a back street garage and yes, I expect my car washed and not oily stains on my leather, drivers side window and around the bonnet hatch and when I raised this with your Service Manager, even though he offered to wash my car, his response was, 'the techs are only human'. I refused Jason because I don't want your people near my car or providing me with poor service, it should have been right first time.

In my opinion, not good enough and I am allowed an opinion and to voice it, that's what forums are for. Stop trying to deny me an opinion, you are as bad as the people you work for. Had you have given me excellent service I'd have been singing your praises, I'd be ok then wouldn't I?

Thank you.

Just thought I'd say thanks to everybody that responded to my request. I have found 2 good looking indies. Alfatechnico in Mansfield and Intaservices in Leicester. Some people think Intaservices have closed but they've just moved around the corner.

Funnily enough I was parked on the street in a Leicester estate when a 4X4 pulled up and the guy called out asking where I got my Alfa serviced, turns out it was Frazer from Intaservices. He also gave me their business card. Small world or what!

Thanks again to everybody who responded!

I'd also sing the praises of Intaservices - they've been servicing my 156 for the past 2.5 years (after a harrowing experience at a Stealership). The car went there for the last 14 months of the warranty too.

They've now got my wife's 147 (drastic problem after less than 24hrs of ownership), they'll always explain what they've done/doing, which helps.

Don, Dave & the guys all know what they are doing, def' a good bunch to know.
