Hi,

I'm sure this has been done to death but I'm redoing the centre console(s) between the seats and in the centre of the dash on my Phase 1 V6 GTV.

Got the centre console between the seats in today. Still to do the centre console on the dash. Both were suffering badly from the sticky plastic feel. At the same time I've replaced the handbrake and gear leaver gaiters with a green stitch leather to match the green/black theme I've got going on with the car.

Questions for anyone who has already done this:
- What colour did you use to spray them. I used Halfords Matt Black (9005) which I'm thinking is a bit light.
- Did you finish them with lacquer. Which one. Again I used Halfords matt lacquer but it's not smooth enough. Not sure if that's my sanding or the lacquer/paint.
- Are there any alternatives or replacement sources for the standard Alfa cigarette lighter socket ? It's a pig to get out and refit.
- Any sources or repair guides for the handbrake surround plastic ? I have repaired mine as best I can with superglue and metal strips along its length but it's not perfect.

I used black satin. Didn't laquer but polished using t- cut to bring it up nicely. The original colour was actually a grey but I'm very happy with mine.

Araldite is great for the handbrake frame.

I couldn't get the lighter out without breaking It but replaced It with a new generic one from Ebay.

the right color is Graphite black RAL 9011

I don't doubt it but it is actually a shade of grey
