I've asked this half a dozen times, but haven't received an answer & have (exhaustively) searched previous threads.

I'm going to paint my callipers & apply heat resistant decals. Do I need to apply lacquer as well or will the decals survive power washes etc...?

Please help.

As far as I can gather, standard decals will bond with the heat. No laquer is needed.

Preperation is the key:
Make sure the caliper surface is "immaculate", dust and grease free. Wipe with white spirits to make sure. Make doubly sure you dont touch the sticky side of the decal as even the oil from your fingertips will affect the life of the decal.

As a signwriter I looked into this, as well as doing my own over the next couple of weeks.

If you are unsure, Paint the text area.....say white......apply the decal, then paint the whole caliper red. before the paint goes off fully, carefully lift the decals off to leave the white text showing.
Personally, I think that method will be tricky to get perfect.

The decals will cost next to nowt and are easy to replace if they lift in the future.
