the seem to get mixed reviews if I'm honest. You'd be better off going to a tuner such as AHMotorsport.

mapping

I had mine done by Angel, cant complain about there service but it made my car (2.4JTD 20V) smoke so badly that I had them remove it and returned to standard and thats the way it has stayed.

Just my experience though!

Wouldn't hesitate, transformed my Gt! Excellent customer care, and the remap power delivery is very linear and takes clutch wear into consideration. Really pleased with mine.:)

I had one done on my 1.9 Jtdm and it was like someone had put chilli powder in the tank (it was fast!) - I did notice a lot of black smoke, although can't remember if that was there before I had the remap too.... Only there when booting it anyway.

This seems to be one of the major problems highlighted by the angel tuning maps. They smoke terribly which is not the sign of a good map. Just the sign of massive over fueling. The autodelta map I have isn't as huge on power but drivability and throttle response are awesome and it doesn't smoke. Even one full throttle.

I dont know what your talking about? mine never smoked with the Angel remap? Mine was recently done in june so maybe the remap was perfected.I really did my homework into the subject, and have been really pleased with Angel tuning. Great customer care from them to.

It does seem to be a bit hit and miss on the area too. That's why I said it gets good and bad reviews.

Quite a few old threads where people have experienced a limp mode or lots of smoke, and then had it taken off ...but also lots of positive reviews.

Either they have made some changes to the map as time has progressed or its a bit of luck whether it works well or not. i would have thought the quality of fuel plays a contributing factor as well (tesco v shell etc). on the plus side they are cheaper than other tuners, but does that mean less development went into it?

I remember them telling me they had slightly changed the remap as of late. I always now use shell optimax diesel. I don't cut corners.:) As an avid owner i speak of my experiences honestly with my Gt. And i have only have great things to say about my remap. And after 3 thousand miles all is still ok and power delivery is really progressive, no spikes etc. Just bags of torque. :)

I have an Angel Tune done over a year ago. I can honestly say it's great but I didn't go OTT requesting a mild state of tune so as not to place undue stress on clutch, driveshafts etc.

One year and 15K miles on no smoke (well - only if you kick it after pootling about for a while. But that is norm for any diesel I think), no lag, reasonable economy (although suspect my MAF may be misbehaving as I struggle to get over 40mpg). However she goes like stink and can pick up smoothly and without fuss in 5th from 30mph. The power delivery is very linear so the car is deceptive so it doesn't feel particularly quick. One look at the speedo tells you otherwise . .

Recommended by me and I would use Angel again.
