still it is showing the way forward maybe

android is going to need to diversify in order to survive

Apple have their OS and iphone etc etc
Windows have pcs and the phone

Android was the phone and not a lot else so they do need to test the water

Would be better on a tablet, I have loaded Android onto a USB stick and booted up on a laptop, but there was some issues with it. Also, with Gingerbread out and Ice Cream Sandwich around the corner(?) it's already a little dated

Loads of ~€100 tablets around (2.2/2.3) being sold by the likes
of Carrefour this Christmas.

Archos have an iPod touch sized one for ~£60 on Amazon but
it hasn't got access to the full AndroidMarket.

Still, if you're just looking for an always-on browser/email gadget
those are good prices.

Asus are updating the Eeeeeeepads to ICS after the launch of the
Transformer Prime.

I got android running on a 10 year old Fujitsu-Siemens B Series laptop, these things were net books when "net books" were books on crab fishing.

It only has a 500mhz processor, 256MB, 30GB but ran it fine and the touchscreen worked straight away in android. In fact it ran faster than those useless Atoms with Windows 7.

You couldn't use the touchpad though so It seems that it only supports one input device.

Every time I install a new version of android x86 it gets a little bit better, still not at the point where I can sell it on my laptops though.
