I keep getting emails that are supposedly from American express.

These having been coming for a couple of years, and usually end up in my junk email folder.

They are normally titled "Dear Cardholder, your statement is due please log in to see your balance".

They are a very good spoof, even the email address looks like it came from American express.

Today I had one arrive in my Inbox, it was addressed to "Dear Card user", and the email contained my balance (£277) and stated a minimum payment amount.

It also had a link where you could click to pay your balance.

The thing that really set alarm bells ringing though was the fact that I have never had an American Express card.

Does anyone else get these?

American Express have enough scams of their own without anyone else joining in. Amex probably actually think you owe them £277. I was going to say ditch the card but you don't have to.
