Hello there,

I recently had a problem with my Alfa 147 2.0l selespeed. The garage finally identified the fault as being 'oil sphere on selespeed unit not holding residual pressure when vehicle stationary causing the oil to overflow'. They therefore replaced the Vessel.

The garage fixed the problem but when I tried to claim for the repair via my seperate parts and labour insurance policy they claimed it wasn't covered.

I was wondering if any of you alfa experts out there could tell me if I should be covered?

My Policy document states the parts covered under my policy are:

Automatic transmission cars:
Automatic transmission clutches, bearings, brake bands, bushes, extension shaft, gears, interval governor (manual and electric), oil pump, servos, shafts, torque converter, valve block, valves, drive chains, gearlever, input shaft oil seal, modulator valve.

Thanks for your help. In your responses please consider the fact that I am not at all technically minded.

Thank you.

Tricky, because it isn't an "automatic" of the type your warranty is talking about.

This is the problem with all warranties that cover a specific list of items.
