Hello,

Wanted to hear your thoughts!

The alternator belt makes noise and was told it's time to change and tensioner should be replaced at the same time.

Handbrake got stuck and was told to replace the piston.

They estimate the cost of 400 euro for replacing mentioned above parts.
But I found those belt/piston changes are less than an hour task so wonder why it costs me so much? Am I getting dumped?

Unfortunately that's the going rate at any of the major dealers. :(
I'd recommend getting the parts from fixus or heikka (no point in going for genuine parts for low tech stuff as auxbelt and tensioner) and then fitting DIY or give the parts to a good independent service guy for fitment if you don't feel like DIY.

finland is an expensive place to get work done, x2 that of other euro countries. so its not so bad

Used to DIY the wishbones but with weather being negative degree the motivation is gone. Good to meet you here! Hauska tavata täällä!
