hi all, have any of u had to replace alternator only because the bearing has failed? i know
of two 156's of late with that problem and now im hearing a screech from my fiancee's gtv. drive belt, tensioner and idler recently replaced..aircon compressor clutch noisy but not source im sure.

Not something I come across regularly - I very seldom get asked for alternators....just as well 'cos they are a PITA to change......

thanks rgwm, in that case, perhaps its the water pump making noise, now, which PITA would you prefer to tackle? :lol: i know id rather do alternator!
