After driving with 247hp for a while now , it doesn't feel that fast anymore..
Time for a upgrage!
I was looking on ebay for a gtb2260 when I stumblet accros this auction;
ebay

Send him a mail , asking if it would be a suiting upgrade for a gt2256v or a gtb2056v and he came up with the following question;
This compressor wheel would be a significant upgrade for either of those units, I do not have all the specifications about them in front of me right now but I would have said it would be slightly better suited to the Gt22 unit, given that it has a larger turbine wheel there will be more drive to the wheel. The 60mm GT22 wheel would be a good stage 1 upgrade and this would be a great stage 2. I am not sure off the top of my head whether or not either of those units use compressor wheels with the extended rear hub design - this compressor wheel has that and so your base unit will need also to use a wheel with the extended rear hub for this wheel to be a simple straight swap. If not the hub can be machined off. If you are considering purchasing a wheel perhaps consult your local turbo shop (who I would assume you would use for the machining/balancing?) about the suitability, or alternatively send me the part numbers of the turbos you are considering installing it into and I will look into it more deeply.
Does one of the turbo's have a extended rear hub?
Would this be a nice upgrade for my 20v or should I go for aan gtb2260 in wich case I also have to customize my downpipe, manifold ,etc

At 250BHP your turbine is on the limit. There is no point in upgrading the compressor if your turbine wheel is too small. Go for GTB.

Looks interesting, but the GTB difference is not only in wheel design, but in the VNT and bearing design too.

I would look onto VNT duty cycle lower limit @full throttle and high revs. It may be that GT22 turbine/VNT will not handle that increased airflow. Then you will probably still need to machine your housing and/or backplate (and may be even the extended rear hub - have no clue if GTBs have this or not).

Hmm , I was hoping you knew this Yan.ko

Should I go Gtb2056 first (got one laying around) or keep searching for a suitable gtb2260? Or could I even go bigger?

I went through pictures taken during my builds, but there is no clear detail of the rear hub.

It depends. Even the GTB2056VK will be an upgrade (better spool for sure and some ~+5% on topend airflow). Personally I would go for GTB2260VK (RL ;)) or GTB2265VK. But then you will find the gearbox/clutch/injector/fuel pump to be the weak point.

Could go for 159 injectors (in stock) and feulpump (210hp , in stock)
gearbox is handeling all the torque beatifully uptill now, so I wont be a problem then.
I'm nog looking forward to spend 1000euro on a turbo , 300 on a downpipe , 700 on a manifold etc that would become to expencive for this car.
Isn't there a way to rebuild a gtb2056 to gtb2260? so it will be a straight fit?

yep, although I would try to match the turbo to the stock manifold beforehand.

would that fit? gtb2260 is triangular, while gt2256 is square..
oh well , maight give it a try..

Now where to find that polish guy that is gonna order my gtb2260..

It's only about drilling the holes in right pattern. Noone says you have to use existing ones only. The sale is an easy job I think. There is an email - [email protected]. Send them the link from the motoallegro and ask if they can ship to NL. They state they accept paypal transfers.

Btw. that was just my quick search for GTB2260 there. Recheck the part no from picture for sure. Also you can try to look around for another one.

GTB2260VK is the right solution for 2.4 JTD(m)... VKRL is too expensive. GTB2265VK might be a bit laggy.
Close to 300bhp reachable IMO.

But you will have to do something about fuel supply.

AFAIK you cant fit JTDm fuel pump to JTD engine. JTDm has two stage pressure control, and JTD only one stage. Your ECU is not compatible with JTDm fuel pump.

You're right, 210 has a two stage pressure control.
Early 200hp haven't, but I'm afraid that pump will be the same as my 175 one.

Found a merc ml 320cdi at the breakers.
Turbo has been a bit hot, but is fine!
It does need to be weld up so it wil fit my manifold, but found someone that could do that for me.





Still not sure to go hybrid or not. And when I go hybrid which parts to use.
Adam from tditurbos.com has been very helpfull so far, so I would probably his dmb spec compressor wheel.
Anyone ever rebuild a hd pump using parts of a bigger pump? I.E. using a cr-sp1h3 crank in a cr-sp1s3 pump?

No upgrade in that case.

I'd go for a GTB2260vk and not fooling around with laggy hybrids. The most awesome power graphs at TDIclub are all using that turbo, think about it...

And for the fuel, at how much rail pressure are you now? Maybe there's quite some margin left there. You can log the pump duty cycle to check that.
