Hi my name is Padraic, I live in the Republic of Ireland, I drive an Alfa 159 2.4 JTDm (07) my 7th Alfa in 18 odd years of driving! Its the worst: one I have had and I seriuosly thought it would be the best! The Worst one before that was one of the 1st 145s in the UK when I lived there, but they have come on in leaps and bounds since then, the 147 being the biggest leap I feel in terms of "Quality". 156 was Alfas chance to really show they were serious about making decent cars but showed that classic looks aint enough to garner a good reputation! and lets be honest the majority of dealers were crap but they cant take all the blame as in some cases the Manufacturer and Distibutors were at fault as well (I know - I've worked in the business previously!) I love the cars to bits, they've cost me a small fortune, went for a Toyota for 2 years and felt I'd lost my mojo and was surprised by the few faults it had and Toyotas attitude to same! - not positive! Have to keep my current steed for longer than I had hoped as recession has hit me! Aw! but it makes me feel great. Alfa Ireland have been very nice to me in sorting out majority of mainly niggly problems which you kinda get used to! My main gripes are crazily uneven front tyre wear ( shot after 6000 miles or so! )(18 inch Pirellis) and the really bad paint finish especially around the rear wheel arches which looks likes someone sand blasted them! Have to conclude(for the time being) that in all those years of ownership none of my cars ever left me down on the road - seriously think they should extend the warranty to 5 years (like parent company Fiats) to really give peace of mind and instill some buyer confidence! By the way I dont drive the "B llks out it as one of the Guys in Alfa Ireland told me I must be! My "joyriding" days are long gone!
