Hey guys, I suppose this is about introducing my car as much as its about introducing myself so I'll try do both. I'm from Dublin... now the car!

I bought my first car last August, an Alfa 156, and have since become addicted to them! Its a '00 2lt Twin Spark, and I reckon even though its 4/5 years old its still a great looking car. I've still got the photo from the dealer who sold it so I'll throw it in here as an attachment, I don't think it does it justice though! Might take a few more of the rest of the car. I had it up on my laptop for ages and pretty much everyone at work knows I'm mad about it- they just don't get it!

Its got a black momo leather interior, with the carbon fibre dash and white guages, its on 28,000 miles at the mo, all electrics and sunroof, I was lucky enough to get a years warranty but am glad to say I haven't needed it for anything major. Its pretty pricey on insurance coz I'm 24 and only had a full licence for 2 years, and tax is a pain, but I reckon for these cars the extra lil costs are worth it.

Its great to drive, very calm and sedated below 3,000rpm but savage when you go above that mark, it'll plant you in the seat when you accelerate and is great fun to drive down our country roads in Ireland. If you get the gearing and revs right as you tackle the road its a very rewarding drive.

I was close to forking out for an '02 3.2lt GTA recently, but just couldn't stretch my budget to allow for it, it was probably totally unrealistic anyway- imagine the insurance!! Still its nice to dream and it remains my target car! She will be mine! As a plan B though, I'm actually looking into getting the GTA kit put on my car, I love the styling of the standard 156 but reckon the GTA kit beefs it up where its needed and keeps the main styling features. It'll prob involve fitting the front and rear gta bumpers/spoilers, side skirts, headlamps and then getting the 17" 5-holes with red brake calipers, then finally I think I'll put a very slight black tint on the windows, and put in a motorised flip-out dvd/cd player.

I was hoping to get advice from you guys as to where I can get the kit and alloys? I live in Ireland and can't really find anywhere that'll do the kit, I'd be prepared to drive over to the UK and fit it, I could get a zender or and autodelta kit but I've my heart set on the proper Alfa GTA kit, so any advice would be brilliant.

Jeez, just saw how much I've written- sorry for boring you all! I've had my rant about the 156 and I'll keep quiet from now on, promise!

Thanks

Who isn't? And sure Tackleberry's a legend, he carried the whole film! Ah the nickname goes back a while and has stuck like glue so I'm stuck with it!

Thanks for the complement Alfa20v!

Looks like you're going to have to get that body kit now Tackleberry. Otherwise, there'll be some disappointed folk around here :)

From the price list above it could get expensive. Might be better to save the money for future GTA ownership - generally, you don't get the money back when you sell the car on. Plus, I've yet to see a decent kit version of the GTA.
