Hiya

Just had a pondering, I live in sweden and at my parents place I have a 164 V6 parked outside.

Now the thing is that we have had very cold conditions this year going down to -25/-30 degrees C

The problem is I have to admit I am a bit worried about the amount of anti freeze in the car since it was something that completly slipped my mind before winter came.

Unfortunatly since they live a bit away and i have the keys (car locked) I can't ask them to top up a bit and if there is any damage it most surely has already been done.

So i was just wondering if anyone knew if the V6 blocks/rads are easily cracked? right pain if they are..

Sorry ZF,no core plugs on an ally V6 block.
Unfortunately they crack quite easy as well.

So they pop out if the coolant freezes and expands to save the engine from cracking? I remember hearing about someong having to get their "frost plugs" changed but I though they were being ripped off

Gearbox out jobbie then, if it freezes and the plugs exit their location? Could be a far worse scenario I guess?:

Top tip GOTCHA....I hope I never need to find them tho.

Fresh antifreeze for me in the sumer.
