Hope fellow Alfisti can help me here. Ive got a 3.2 oil cooler take off plate and pipes and will be getting the oil cooler and want to fit it to my 156 2.5 v6 track day car, to replace the oil/coolant heat exchanger, and exchanger coolant feed pipe. Does anyone know why Alfa mounted the coolant header tank on the right side for the 3.2 GTA? The 2.5 left hand side position makes more logical sense, why did they go to the trouble and route the return pipe across the back of engine and feed pipe down the bottom of the rad back over the other side? Was this something todo with the different oil cooler setups?
