My battery finally conked out a few days ago and I got a new one. In doing so the stereo reset itself and is now asking for the "secret" code. I bought the car second hand, have had it for over a year and have never been asked this before and don't know it.

Alfa customer service told me to take it to my nearest Alfa dealer (20miles) and pay them to take the stereo out and give me the code. I was wondering if this is something I could do relatively easily?

Anyone know?

it may be worth buying a new head unit if you are going to have to pay for the code. you can get new head units pretty cheap these days. and the standard ones are generally ****.
just a thought.
