Hey all!

Just out of interest, for all you you Alfa owners out there who have one in Alfa red, has the colour been a problem in terms of fading with the sunlight.

Or is the trick just to keep it all nicely polished?!

Thanks everyone

Yep it fades, and when it does the only remedy is a re-spray.
My 145 was washed and waxed every week, using Autoglym products. It got to around seven years old with no fading, then suddenly it went about six different shades of red :(

Red always fades.

Latest models supposedly have a (metallically priced) Alfa red
that resists, but I'd like to see a car that's been in a warmer
climes and not garaged for 5 years to see how resistant it really is.

My previous 147 hadn't faded after 6 years of life and my GTA is still fade free .... and even if it did a respray is an option considering how perfect Alfa Red is ;)

Yes, Nev's Brera has faded that much, it's gone a horrible black colour :D

If its clear coated red it will cause you no problems, I repalced the rear alfa badge on mine after 4 years (frost had killed it), colour underneath was identical to the rest of the hatch.

I dont know the details and dates of clear / non clear coated Alfa red.
