Managed to misplace the bolt that came with the car to take my locking wheel nuts off , how much of a nightmare is this going to be to replace? are they all the same? It's in a hexagonal shaped key in it.
Do you feel its important to have the security bolts on your wheels????
I had a similar dilema the other month whilst having a new set of shoes fitted(tyres).
The tyre fitters warned me prior to removing the wheels that the security bolts could be tight and snap the socket.I told them to just jump on the extension bar it will be ok..Yup you guessed right it snapped the security socket at the 1st attempt. After another visit the tyre fitters using their big hammer and security bolt removers I now have no security bolts and have no doubt about my teledials being nicked..I suppose it depends on the asbo kids and wot they will nick for their 6pack of Lynx..
Mine has 15" pepperpots and you could buy a set for £40 so I regard locking nuts as a PITA I don't need.
The chisel works well but if the nuts are recessed in the wheels you might not be able to get at them. If this is the case, get a socket that's slightly too small for the bolt and bash the ****er on with a hammer. Then just undo it as normal. You may or may not be able to get the nut out of the socket after so expect it to cost you a socket or two.
Howdy troops n troopettes hope all is well,
But it's come to that time of year/month/day again that alas, I need some help. Long story short, almost all the front suspension was replaced less than a year ago, covered less than 5k, last week had the front wheel bearings changed and the car...
So basically the front subframe is extremely rusted on my 1.9jtdm 88kw (120hp) facelift 147. My question is what ones can I look for to work to change out the rotten one?
1) Does diesel/petrol make a difference?
2) Would one from a GT/156 work? afaik they use similar/same drivetrain
Has anyone ever fitted and transported home a spare leather interior for a GT actually in a GT? Want to pick one up (complete with door cards) and would rather take the GT than the VW van for time, economy and comfort reasons.
If it's been done, how did the 3d jigsaw work out? I was thinking...
I've just bought my old 147 1.6TS back off my brother and had it up on my father in law's lift to do an oil change and once over at the weekend. The back box is very corroded (probably not helped by all the flooded roads recently) and I could stick my finger right through it, the rest of the...
