Hi. I am new to this forum and this is my first post. I am on my way to my first Alfa ownership. I currently have an MR2 and have had a Fiat Coupe and Fiat X1/9 in the past.

I was wondering if anyone here knows or has owned this car? Its a nice looking GT in Carland, Dublin with low mileage.

Car sales Dublin, Used Cars Santry, Car service North Dublin

Any advice or info would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Haven't been to see it in the flesh yet as I am awaiting more detailed info from the garage.

I would also be open to anyone here who has a loved and cherished GT for sale.

Anyone?

Welcome to AO & good luck with your Alfa search

There's some useful info in the Tech Lounges Alfa 147, 156 & GT - Alfa Romeo Forum especially in a few of the Sticky threads at the top of the page.

One thing to check for is sill damage where the car has been jacked up, unfortunately it's a common enough issue. There are indicator marks on the side of the sills but the jacking points are further in & not on the actual sill which isn't structural.
With the bodykit I'm not sure how easy it'll be to check the sills depending how far in it goes.

Is that body kit running along the sills? Looks strange to the rear of the door.
I've seen a couple of red GTs with that kit fitted, I thinks there's also an addition to the bottom of the rear bumper.

Apparently the car had its timing belt changed by the previous owner but it was not recorded on the cam cover nor the service book as it hasn't one. My alarm bells are starting to ring but maybe I am paranoid!!!

Going to go and see it and decide from there.

You probably already know the timing belt interval is 3 years or 36K miles (whichever comes first)

Is there any chance you can find out who last did the belt, if it was a garage they might have a record of it. If not & you still want the car try asking the seller to knock off 400 or 500 so you can get it done.
