currently restoring an Alfa Giulia Super 1.3 from 1973, the 'Unificata'.

After removing all the old carpet layers (a single large piece of moquette, i think coming from a GT, rubber floor mats with alfa logo, and a set of commercial carpets on top of everything), I have doubt about what has to be put back in the car. I would like to keep it as much original as possible, I know the big moquette wasn't supposed to be there and the rubber mats with the Alfa logo on them are the correct ones for this model year, but my question is: if I only put rubber mats, what will be covering the areas around the mats, towards the doors and the back seats? Will I see the painted floor?
