My G MA 170 is due for MOT and service; 4 years, only 24000 miles.

Last year I took it to an Alfa dealer (was under warranty) and wasn't particularly impressed by them - they broke the engine cover, so I had to go back to get that replaced, didn't fix the rear doors/windows letting rain in to soak the carpets, didn't fix the petrol flap hinge, diagnosed a new ARB and bushes and suspension arms and droplinks when it really only needed the droplinks. Did just the droplinks myself and it's been clunk free since.

I have a local MOT / servicing garage who seem to know what they're about.

Or I can take a drive to an Alfa specialist; used Alfanatics in Fleet for my 147 but that was several years ago.

Thoughts? If I go to the local place; is there anything I need to say to them re oil grade, multi-air / turbo oil filter bolt, anything else?

Dom.

If you have a Alfa specialist you can go to I would go with them personally.

As for service it’s worth changing the MA gauze while it’s being done, general consensus is change it every other oil change.

I’d say a specialist, or a really good local garage. You’ll probably need to mention the MA filter to a regular garage. I’ve never had a good experience with an Alfa dealer, they tend to know the least about servicing a car properly.
