Just want to say thanks once again to Kevin for sorting me out with very hard to find parts for my gtv. Spent ages looking around for dust covers for the front shocks and was unable to find them anywhere. got in touch with him and he had them for me the next day, 9 euro a side which I thought was very fair.
He's currently building a website to sell all the fiat and alfa new stock that he has, but even if its not listed there, contact him and he can try get it in from Turin.
Prices I've found to be very reasonable but the service is what has me going back

That being said, the site is badly laid out, I've told him that already. However it is much easier to navigate than the first time i did my order.
On the plus side, once you contact kevin, his customer service is top notch. He can get parts that i couldn't find anywhere

Hi All,

Anyone with an Alfa in Cork could do well to check out Paul's new place of employment - Cashmans Midleton.

Paul will be doing some work for me shortly (once I get my expenses next week :crying: ) and will report back on how I get on with parts etc.

Want to give a shout out to kevin Mc Bride for sorting me out with a pair of front brake pads for the gtv for 40 quid. Better still they came in an alfa box
Cheaper than ***** garage.

Also got great service from Tractamotors and even got some free parts. Ordered a handbrake button, got given 5 instead as thats what fiat sent them in. Same regarding slam panel stickers, got 10 for the price of 1

That sounds very interesting considering I will be having my first experience of getting prices/parts through Dan Seaman.....

Also, I was only thinking the other day the silver button on the tip of my handbrake was disintegrating and wondering where I would get a replacement. - do you have the code etc. for that or are we talking about the same thing?

Hi there. Sorry for the delayed response but I don't check in here too often. The mechanic I found isn't a specialist in any way - just an independent garage that services all cars. I have a Giulietta and I intermittently get a 'Check Engine' warning light as well as 'Start Stop Unavailable'. Having run a diagnostic on a number of occasions he still isn't any wiser as to the problem so I'm just ignoring it for now. I'll keep going to him out of convenience but he's no Don Baker. He is good and he did quickly diagnose the vibration coming from the rear-left axel as an unevenly worn tyre. Pricing seems fair also I'll PM you the details anyway.

Edit: Erm...how do you send a PM these days? I can't seem to find any such functionality.
Edit: Just found out that you don't want to receive PM's, hence the lack of functionality! Rory Browne in Ballyneety is the place I go to anyway.

Well, just got my car back from Dan Seamans

Oil leak is now fixed. Needed a new radiator. The service manager, Gareth is the complete opposite of what Alfa service guys used to be. Nice guy to deal with.
Hopefully the leak will be fixed permanently, but only time will tell that.
Even got the car back washed

Price was a bit cheaper than I thought it would be too which is even better
Will have no problem going back to them for servicing.

Looks like we mightn't be garageless in Cork yet

This week I had a set of Bridgestone Potenzas fitted & balanced by Banks Tyres, I also had the tracking done.

Excellent service, not a mark on my wheels & they did exactly what I asked. They've good prices & they are sound to deal with, I'll definitely be using them in the future :thumbs:

Another Thumbs up for Cashmans in Midelton.

Since Paul moved there from Lee Garage I've had the following done...... (16 year old Alfa - what the hey!)

New rear brake discs
New brake lines
Replacement front right hub
Timing belt
New rear section on the Exhaust ( Last week)
There was a service in there somewhere :jester:

The people in the service desk couldn't be better to deal with and Paul treats the car like his own.

Now all I need to do is find a good V6 166 to be bringing to them as well as the Gtv! :biglaugh:

Blueee the 147 was in for a service recently, all work was done as requested. Brendan the Service Manager & David the technican/mechanic (both ex Lee Garage employees) went through what was done & highlighted one or two things. The price quoted was also less than I was expecting.

This was my first time using the Dan Seaman's service department & it was appositive experience, it's great to be able to speak to the people who actually work on the cars instead of just someone sitting behind a desk. I'm happy to return when next I need any work done.

How much did they charge for a service last time in Seamans? If you dont mind me asking.
Its belt and wishbone time for my beloved GT. Considering Seamans instead of going to my usual indi.

I think it was €150 as part of an Alfa Ireland winter service promotion advertised online which was running at the time, very good value for a main dealer service.
