If they are the ones on Sycamore Rd...IMHO, they are baffoons.
I too saw the ad on ebay for 156 sw leather interior starting at £400 and various 166 parts. I then called them about leather for a saloon and was told they'd be getting one in the next day. I called again and went to see it. Black, tatty and a ripped. Asked the price and baffoon said £550! Offered a lower price but he stuck to £550. As I started to walk away he quipped, "It's already sold". As politely as I could, I asked him "Why the "pox" didn't you mention that on the phone when I called you?"
A consumate lesson in how to win and retain customers.
Maybe he was having an off day, maybe he's an ex alfa service manager - who knows - who cares.
Oh dear. How time flies! I was looking back through my records last night and wondered if I might be getting close to needing a service. Last year was a bit of a horrid one (Mrs Avocet had a nasty car accident) and I didn't use the Alfa much. Plus I inherited an end-of-life Freelander 1...
