For anyone experiencing a failure of the air intake pipe here is a solution that works better than the original because the hose is more flexible. Can be used on all V6 engines. Find a late model (1996 - 2002) 6 cylinder Falcon (Australia, NZ) and use the right angle flexible pipe as well as one narrow Ford hose clamp. Cut the Alfa pipe leaving the first bigger ring near the breather. Then using a really sharp knife or Dremel remove the 5 or 6 cross lugs (you can use a file to make them smooth. With your really sharp knife or Dremel pare down the size of the ring until you can get the Falcon pipe over it but still leaving a ridge to secure the new pipe to. I don't but you could glue it ESP if you cut too much of the ring off. I just use the narrow Ford hose clamp as it fits better in the groove. Much more flexible than the original. This is the part you are looking for: Ford EL AU Falcon Air Intake Hose Flexible Section 4ltr 6cyl 1996-2002 *New* You may also find similar pipes on Ebay. You can do the same mod on TS engines by just finding the right diameter hose. Pic is of a 166 3 litre.
