I've been searching these forums but can't find a definitive answer to this question! I have just fitted an aftermarket Pumpkin double din head unit to my 159 but the radio reception is poor. My question is :-
Does the Alfa 159 (pre 2009) have an aerial amplifier and if so is it powered by sending current down the Co-axial cable OR does the standard head unit have an amplier built in OR neither of the above?
I have seen an adapter for the aerial lead which has an extra live wire to feed 12V down the cable and have read some posts which suggests that is needed for the 159 and others which say you need a separate amplifier for the radio aerial and even others which say you need to clean/replace the aerial itself because of corrosion. I'd welcome a definitive answer so that others could also find it!
