Hi, regulars will have seen my messages about my gearbox whining, it finally went last week and so I have bought myself a new one with 2.4 and an auto box!

So my old 159 1.9 JTD is on ebay for spares or repairs, a new gearbox will sort it out - and it had new EGR and Turbo 18 months agao (18,000 miles ago). The alloys are 17 inch spokes and the tyres are very good. Brake pads were replaced two years ago.

She fired up and ran without problems before the gearbox went so it could be a great car for someone who can be bothered to get the work done - new boxes can be fitted for £550 by transmission specialists. The car must be towed away though, the gearbox is trashed!

Doubt people will be able to get a new or even recon gearbox fitted for only £550.
You'll be lucky to just get the bearings replaced for that, with the 'box in situ. Not an option on yours of course.

Good luck with getting rid.
With the mileage and gearbox ebay makes a lot of sense.
