hi guys, i have just bought a 156 2.5 v6 a couple of days ago, car runs and drives like a dream but have noticed the temp gauge goes up to the 3/4 mark before fans bring it down to just below half, only happens when been sitting in traffic for a fair ammount of time, never on the move and never goes anywhere near the red and doesnt use any water, is this normal??

its supposed to run at 90, as long as the fans bring it down to 90 (or just under) you should be ok, could be worth checking the rad for excessive damage/rot just incase :)

Could be that the resistors in the low speed fan circuit have failed.

VERY common issue.

The result is the low speed fans don't run, so the temperature keeps rising until it gets to the point where the high speed fans run, bringing the temperature beck to normal.
