hi guys just bought a alfa 156 gta after saving and waiting for a long while :), any way i want to upgrade the suspension, ive read alot of threads on here but still unsure, can anyone help. im not sure what to get either coilovers if so which ones??, but it seems alot of gta owners go for the koni shocks and eibach springs ?? i would like to lower about 30mm to 40mm and less roll round courners. sorry if you have heard this question loads of times but want to get it right and not mess the cars handling up

thanks paul

A lot of people fit Koni FSD with eibachs pro springs to all alfa and not just the GTA. Ned at autlusso will fit the kit for you for a very reasonable price if you want to go down the normal spring and shock route.
However I will be saving up for a set of KW V2's instead. These are even better but obviously will cost a little more and I think will make the car a little different from everyone else. The choice is yours.

For less roll around the corners you will probably need new ARBs. Suspension will help a little but it doesn't stop body roll on turn in. I'm waiting to have Eibach ARBs fitted, people that have those say they make a big difference as well.

Cheers,

i know that when i do get a q2 fitted i will be saving for the kW v3's as the next mod if i fall short i may choose to go the v2 route, i have heard great things about them both

i'm confused. i thought v1 was standard shock and spring. v2 was the coilover with a little adjustment and v3 was the all singing all dancing bad boy

me too lol ppl are saying v3 are for track daysand needs alot of setting up, autodela coilovers leak (ppl have said), all i want is better handling round corners and lowring a little, same ride comfort that it has now would be nice, not knocking your fillings out when going over bumps

I would say it would depend whether it is an every day car or not. If not, then go for coilovers. I have Bilstein B14 and love the look and feel. It did not deteriorate the ride too much in my opinion but the roads here are very good anyway.

I think a lot of people are of the opinion that coil overs wil make the car too stiff and uncomfortable on the road,
it is in fact the opposite as you can have soft springs and adjust the dampers to suit your requirements :)

hope this helps
