Hi, I just bought a used Alfa 156.

I have a problem with my gear shift. It's very loose and can be moved sideways to a certain point, even when it's in gear.

Any ideas on how to tighten it?

Sounds like the socket base at the bottom of the gear lever is at fault - could be loose or split like mine was...
