Hi Guys

More problems!!

My coolant temp is hovering between approx 52 - 68 degrees!

I would think that the thermostat is stuck open as I would have thought the thermostat would 'nt open until around 88 degrees.

I have tried a couple of local motor factors and the best price for a thermostat I have been able find is £116 + VAT. (what happened to the days of £8 thermostats eh!!)

Anyone know of anywhere cheaper ? or a second hand unit?

I can't keep spending money like this on the car at this time of year especially.

Also my outside temp was showing 1 degree then suddenly shot up to 17 degrees (snow everywhere!) anyone know what could be wrong ?

Cheers guys as always

Hi, the thermostat for the jtd's are expensive as they are in a housing with a sensor in it but I think you'll be able to get them cheaper than that, try buypartsby, eb spares or alternate autos, or even ebay. Dont use a second hand one, its pointless as you may be doing the job again very soon.

The outside temp sensor is in the passenger side mirror, mine used to play up now and again, I dont know if you can get the sensor seperatly from the mirror
