Hi,

Well, it's about time for a new suspension for a 2004 156 2.4 20v MJet with sport pack.
The 156 is on 17" rims with Bridgestone Potenza RE050A, 215/45R17.
I am not looking to lower the ride height. Loads of speedbumps round here. Just ordered the alu tray.
Front ride height: 635mm
From front arch to centre of wheel hub: 345mm
Rear ride height: 665mm
From rear arch to centre of wheel hub: 365mm
The normal everyday use is on B-roads and the undertray tells the full story.
So, heard about Koni FSD + Eibach Pro kit springs and Bilstein B6 + Eibach Pro kit springs.
Hope you can share your choices, the ride heights and the handling.
Thank you.

Anyone with a 2004 2.4 20v, and Koni FSD + Eibach Pro kit springs or Bilstein B6 + Eibach Pro kit springs, that can post some photos or the ride height?

Thank you.

The best all round setup I've found for this model is the Koni FSD's and Eibach pro springs, but also the Eibach anti roll bars, this really sorted the test vehicle out and removed almost all the body roll so that max conering speed was increased.

OK OK I hear you, when I get her out of the garage I'll do the measuring thing. I have some pics in the gallery.

Quite correct regarding spec:- Eibach Pro-Kit + FSD + Eibach ARB, tyres are 225/45x17.

Sorry for the delay, I found some level road and here are the results:

Front ride height: 640mm
From front arch to centre of wheel hub: 340mm
Rear ride height: 645mm
From rear arch to centre of wheel hub: 335mm

I do also have the Alu undertray.

Sounds like the original poster's front suspension may have sagged, as it is close to the measurements of your 20v on Eibach springs and FSD shocks.

As you know Dan, the springs and shocks were originally on my Veloce spec 1.9 JTD saloon, and thanks to the lads were swopped over, this included the top mounts. When originally on the 1.9, the Eibachs gave a significant reduction (25mm) in rear ride height although the front hardly dropped, (10mm).

The difference between wheel centres and the ground from front to rear is due to the weight of the engine & gearbox!

You have 1.9 Eibach springs fitted on your 2.4?

TOX1C and Pud237,
Thank you very much.
I've got a good quote on the Bilstein B6 so, it's time to change the suspension.

The springs for all JTD and V6 models are the same, as they are for SW and saloon, part no E1021-140.

How much for a set of B6 shocks? B4 are seriously cheap at the moment.

I always thought the 4 cyl JTD used TS springs, but then that doesn't make sense because even the 4 pot JTD is quite a lot heavier than a TS. And your ride height figures seem spot on :)
