Experienced a total loss of power on the motorway yesterday, pulled onto the hard shoulder, engine would turn over but not fire. AA man scratched his head and called in the low loader to take it home! I've heard from the garage today (local garage not an alfa specialist) that they reckon it's the high pressure fuel pump that's gone - they haven't quoted a price yet but i've seen elsewhere on this site that they can cost £850.00 fitted. Anyone got any ideas on where to source a second hand one - or whether I should get them to check anything else.

- the AA man ran a diagnostics check and no fault codes showed up, also there is nothing showing on the dash. My wife was driving at the time (!!!) and as I woke from my slumber - I'm sure I noticed an oil pressure warning message on the dash - it's since disappeared.
