Hi
I have a 1999 156 1.8 TS and it proved to be a real gas guzzler, it spends about 15 - 16 litters for every 100 kilometers(city). I tried all the usual stuff to fix it(new MAF,spark plugs, replacing bad thermostat, alignment...), but I didn't get an results.I've had one consistent issue that won't go away, the car when on the move and in neutral revs unevenly, it goes from 600 to 1500 rpm. I cleaned throttle body and idle control valve, and it seems to give me results for only 5-10 minutes of driving, after which it goes back to erratic idle. I think that idle control valve might be bad, but i still don't know if this is the reason for bad gas mileage...
Does anyone have any experience with this, or suggestions?
