Hi,

I have an Alfa 147 TI 1.6. TS Manual 54 plate had it about a month now and the cruise control does not work. I asked the people i brought it off to have a look and they have said that it does not come with Cruise Control. The stalk is there and everything.

Just wondering whether this is True or not if anyone else has any ideas please let me know.

Thanks

"Operator Error possibly?":)

Although I remember working on a newish (then) base model Ford Escort MkII. I mean this had rubber mats!

The next model up had reverse lights, and to promote that they didnt fit the bulb in the base model. Everything else. No Bulb!:cheese:

But I guess that was Ford for ya!

When ya turn on the "Autopilot" it is necassary to twist the controller anticlockwise to bring the speed up, it dont just start working, so it is prob OK.

I have tried this because it says that you usually hold it for 3 seconds. But it does say a light should appear on the dash when you turn it on. I have also checked where the fuse is to make sure that was ok and it seems fine.

Any more ideas?

Ah well, just a thought!

There are brake pedal and clutch pedal sensors which cut the system if either pedal is depressed.

If badly adjusted or if either of the switches fail then the system will cut out.

SIMPLES!

Can't help with a fix, but just to confirm that cruise control was standard on the 147 TI - if they're telling you it wasn't, then they're having you on.

i brought it from a garage not a alfa garage. And do you have any pictures of where the switches are on the pedals?

They will be up near the pedal pivot. The brake light switch normally doubles up on this kind of system but I am not sure whether that is so on your car.

The clutch switch is in about the same place. Get ya head down in the foot well and look for wires in that area!

On my 147 Ti, as soon as you twist the Cruise Control stalk to ON, there is a green light appears in the Speedo Dashboard display. Is that happening !!!!......
