Alfa 147 1.9JTD 8v oil in intake

Hi, I have a problem with my alfa, it has a turbo from 2.4jtd brera, and after 50-60000km from upgrade, there were signs of oil on outside of turbo and also in the pipes that go to intercooler. I send turbo to be rebuild and after mounting it and running for 20-30min on idle, I noticed again signs of oil, not too much but there was some oil. My question now is that is turbo rebuild badly or because my PCV is venting to atmosphere, is there maybe a problem with oild draining and therefore crating too much oil pressure in turbo?

Hi, thanks for the answer.
I think that pcv cannot create oil because PCV hose that goes from cranshaft cover is not connected to pipe before turbo, it's just let venting to atmo.
And turbo has been rebuilt, maybe if rebuilt is not done correctly...

Just make sure the breather is venting and not blocked.

What about the turbo flow/return connections ?

Breather is not blocked, but also does not have vacuum to help it...
What do you mean turbo flow/return connections?
I will maybe make a test and remove pipe from airfilter and pipe that leads to IC, and start car to see how much it leaks oil...

You said there is oil on the outside of the turbo, the turbo is oil lubricated/cooled presumably.

Well even in racing there is a reason for the PVC to be connected before the turbo or in NA before the Throttle body. The engine itself makes the vacuum for the operation easier work of the PCV. The best thing you can do about this case is to put a catch can. As an official racing driver, this is one mod that is helpful and not harmful in any way to the engine but the opposite - cleaner Turbo, cleaner Intercooler, cleaner intake, and valves.

With that made and checked, see if there are no loose fittings or bolts on the turbo and oil line. Even check the gaskets if they are properly fitted. If all these things are okay then the problem comes from the turbo itself and the seals inside are worn.
