My Alfa is making whining noise when accelerating. So i took off aux belt to isolate a problem and unfortunately the noise is still there. I have a video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7YFcyFSO4aA. Now could someone tell me what it may be, i suspect water pump or tensioner. I don't think its engine itself right. If you have any ideas please share, thanks.

I have exactly the same problem. Did also the same and still no clue what is causing this.
Will do a full service end of this month to replace the belts and oils. Maybe the alfa workshop will fix it.

A tensioner , a roller or the waterpump. Take off the cover and wiglle anything that rolls. Normaly butt not allways a noisy waterpump thous leak to

Problem fixed. It was timing belt tensioner. Whining is gone.

Good to know, I have planned to do mine at the end of this month.
I am driving with this for almost 2 years. Still no problem with this.

Noise = abnormal bearing wear = at some point the bearing will collapse or seize and your engine will be severely damaged by losing the cam belt.

It could carry on for another 2 years, or fail tomorrow. That it hasn't failed in 2 years tells you only that it is now 2 years nearer failing.
