Hello lads and Happy New Year

Today I took the battery cover out ( on the + side where the fuse box is) to try and jump start my cousin's car.

When I tried to put everything back on, the alarm started to beep without stopping. When I open the door it beeps, when I start the engine it still beeps. and when I try to put the alarm on, it makes quite a loud noise before locking the car.

Any suggestions ?

Have you tried pressing the remote locking fob when the alarm's going off to disarm it?

yes, no luck

still no luck.

It only starts beeping when I turn the key to MAR, and then with the engine runing all the time. If I open the door then the beeps start to become louder, and when I lock the car there is a loud alarm.

What can I do ?

have you tried disconecting the negative cable for a while? might reset it.

I've got a quote from the owner's manual

" If it is necessary for the vehicle to lie inactive for long periods ( over 3 weeks) the electronic alarm should be deactivated to avoid draining the battery. "

I've been gone for 1 month, for a holiday. and the car was inactive during this period

Could the battery be a problem ? It starts pretty normal.
