Following recent head replacement due to cambelt slippage the air bag light (red) has remained on.

There are no connectors under the seats as often mentioned on various posts but there is a yellow connector under the drivers seat, in a hole in the carpet, with a resistor joining two contacts (held in place with some insulsation tape), there do not appear to be any connectors on the seat. There are no wires under the passenger seat.

Could the fact that the battery was disconnected for two to three weeks be an issue

Any ideas on how to extinguish the light

Hi a low battery voltage could cause the light to come on or has the vehicle had a boost start after standing awhile during the repair, it needs to have it,s memory checked by the examiner or decoder to find out why and then possibly be deleted

No it has not had any resets, battery has been replaced as the original failed due to aux belt failure.

How do I get it reset can you do it yourself?

easiest way for reset is to go to either alfa or a car electrician specialist, someone who can connect a computer to the cars engine management and reset alarms. it can be done yourself but you need the correct hardware and software, not many people have these!

alfa charge £50 for a full diagnostics session, i would imagine if its just a lamp reset you would not be looking at nearly this much.
