I have an ALFA 155 1.8 T.Spark
I'm planning to go to Italy (warm place) next june and unfortunately my air cond sistem had a failure just five days ago.
The air compressor has been refilled but yet , pushing the "auto" switch, it doesn't insert , keeping only the fan souffling non conditioned air
Perhaps it depends (I hope) only on electric small problem. If I identify that problem I will not change all the air electric central , wich is very expensive here in Bruxelles.
Can someone help me with a propper suggestion?

there is a valve on the inlet pipe(engine) with two pipes and two wires going to it this valve comes on when you switch on the aircon it brings up the idle speed..now then take of the two wires and connect one of them(cant remember which)to the battery and you should hear a loud CLICK come from the aircon pump(its the clutch clicking)if not there may be a fault with the pump...the people who re-gased the system should have tested it for you anyway.

Hi Gianca
When I first got my 155 the a/c didn't work. Is was a simpel missing eath - my auto electician made a new inside under the dash next to the a/c relay and it worked since. wink
Hope this can help
Alfisti regards

Jimybob - will the wrong wire cause a prob?

I was told there was a failsafe which means the compressor won't run if there's no gas in the system - I presume your tip bypasses this, so is it a diy thing or a specialist (with insurance wink ) job

thats right if there is no gas it wont go..you said you had it refilled..doing the wire thing will tell you if the clutch is working its not a solution just a test..you have payed for a service from the aircon man who filled it up so take it back and get them to tell you whats wrong.
