I recently took my 156 into my brother's garage for a quick oil and filter change before heading off to Cornwall.
I asked if he could check if my air con needed regassing, as it didn't sem to be working.

Sure enough, completely empty! We soon found out why.

One of the air con pipes which if you are standing in front og the car looking in the engine bay, is at the bottom on the passenger side. (There are two down there), had been worn through by rubbing against another pipe. This has made a hole about the size of a little finger nail in the pipe.

Has anybody patched a repair on an air con pipe? And if so how? If not, are they expensive?

So my plan of a length of copper water pipe, some Chemical Metal, chewing gum and gaffa tape won't work then? ;)

Replacement it is then. I'll just add it to the list of parts needed...........

But are they the right ones ... there are a lot of different versions .. and they don't appear to fit every car!

Sometimes you strike lucky on ebay .. I picked up one (condenser to dryer) for £17 .. list price over £80!

Had it recharged, then another one leaked!
