Hi there,

I am in a dilemma. I only have one key, no key code card (fought it 2nd hand), and for the grand finale, the only key is damaged.

So there is many variant how to solve this, but i normaly want best and cheap one.

1. Buy some aftermarket remote control (sorry this page is on my natural language)
http://mk.kolektiva.net/skopje/dalechinski-upravuvach-za-vashiot-avtomobil.html

This thing comes with 2 remote controls, with flip blades. Cost 30 euro with 1 year guarantee. Exstra costs, blade cut 8 euros for the 1 key (and put code chip from my Alfa key), and for the second key also blade cut and second code chip, together ~40 euros.

2. Go to the car lock smith, hope it has some Alfa key and pay ~150 euros for spare key with remote, and repair my 1 st key ~30 euros.

:S
What do you think?

Thanks in advance.

Your key is just missing the battery holder and battery it is not damaged :) . If you get this part then hopefully your key and central locking will work again. If you give Loz at Autolusso bournemouth a ring I know he has some spare keys that he uses for parts. He should have the bit you need and be able to send it to you. Failing that then try their main branch and ask for Dan. I would avoid aftermarket keys :)

I know Loz sends parts all over the world. He just sent a selespeed actuator to Mexico so your location won't be an issue. I'm pretty sure you can pay on card over the phone too if you want to do it that way. I'm sure you can sort out a payment between you :)

That`s great !

But i will still have the problem, not having 2nd key, and that gonna cost me. Also, the dilemma, is the remote functional after i fix the key battery.
That`s why i was thinking of getting that aftermarket remote control, it will cost much less, i`ll have 2 keys. Only problem is, it is not an Alfa original key, how good it will be, and will be there any electrical-technical issues (seller is pro, but you never know)

Sorry if i waste your time or i am bugging you.

not a problem. If you fix that key you should have a fully working remote. So alarm, central locking and boot open should then work correctly with that key. Ask Loz at the same time about key coding. I don't know enough about it myself but I know he can reprogram keys for 147 and 156 so he might be able to help you with a second key.
