I have bought the alfa-diag cable and downloaded the eval software.

I went for the USB version - USB ISO OBD-II / VAGCOM / AlfaDiag KKL Interface

The question is where do I plug it in and what do I do to sort out the airbag issue?

Cheers,
Kev

For airbag ECU you need to modify the the connector as the airbag ecu uses a different PIN. In standard pin out it will connect to the engine (and selespeed if available) ECU's only.

Not sure where the connector is on the 147 but on the 156 its under the little cover that hides the fuses to the lower right of the steering wheel.

You have to alter the wire that goes to pin 7 to go to pin 3 for the airbag, but of course then it has to be put back for the ecu. If you run a search on the forum, you should be able to find old threads about this.

The eval/demo version will only confirm you can connect to the car by testing the engine temp ... to reset the fault codes and airbag and test any other sensors, you will need to purchase a licence.
