Hi all.

There is a nice 156 for sale in the village.

It looks good and has the nice Alfa alloys on, but have not looked at it properly yet.

The thing is my mums vectra is always breaking down and is a pile of poo.

My mum likes alfa's and always has. So im trying to get her to buy it. She wants to have a looked at it but dose not want to buy a not so good 156. So is there any normal faults i should look out for. Cheers Gavin.

Hi Gavin,

A lot of the usual Alfa checks apply:

- Make sure the cambelt has been changed in accordance to the standard interval (36k miles or 3 yrs whichever is the sooner)

- Make sure that the owner has religiously checked the oil levels while they owned it

- Check for suspension noise

Good luck with persuading your mum to join the fold :D ;)
