Hello All,
We are about to trade our Honda Accord for a new car. We have had the Honda since 1999 and it has been very reliable if somewhat vanilla.

We are now looking for something a bit more exciting......

The contenders are as follows:-

1) 2006 Alfa 156 Selespeed - this is my favorite. Wife does not like driving a stick - however the selespeed solves this delima. What is a Selespeed like to own?

2) 2007 Alfa 147 Selespeed - as above but a bit more sporty.....

3) Another Honda. Vanilla plain and boring - but reliable.

Advice please.

You'll find the selespeed in any model to be lovely to drive, it's as reliable as any other car, there are thousandsof them about and the few you here about on here are just the odd ones that are breaking down to the owners ignoring the warning signs, your choices are still young though and will be under warranty for some time, you should never need to use it though. Having previously worked in the Honda plant in Swindon (aswell in my past) though I can tell you that the Alfas are a lot easier to work on if you like DIY, and they don't have that pipe and slippers thing to tarnish you with.
