Just bought a Brera, noticed on viewing the car the fan would not adjust speed when pressing the button so a very quick browse on it and it seems there is a common fault with the resistor so knockee some money off and thought I would change it myself as it seems easy even for me who is pretty useless.

I have got the old one out, new one is here tomorrow but now I dont know which cable come from + and which from -. One cable is all black, the other is black and red. My common sense tells me the black and red will be the positive. I dont have a multimeter and dont know anyone who does. I will attach a picture for clarity.

Yes - black is "minus", red/black is "plus".
Other that that, it is just a resistor, a load - it is not polar and electrically would work, despite "incorrectly" connected +/- wires.
