after scuffing bumper took to local bodyshop and car seemed fine however the more I looked at it the worse it got.overspray in door shuts and car sprayed down whole side in not 8c.the owner said as car had a pevious respray must have been done by someone else.where do I stand legally and what action can I take to recover cost of putting it right.

8c red is very hard to match, lots of stories like this, on here and elsewhere. Do you have many photos of the car 'before'? You'll probably need to pay for an independent assesor's report, if you want any chance of challenging them. Has it definitely had paint previously?

yeah hard to prove but after speaking to the guy he said he will meet halfway and help towards getting it done properly.
i am happy that at least i don't have to go down the legal route and can recover something toward repair.

did have problems with the 8c paint match on my spider but thankfully it got sorted ,hope they yours sort out
