Can't be sure. I fitted a 156 GTA one to my 156 JTD when I did the breaks and it was fine but another friend had and issue when doing his 147 and it didn't fit. If that is a picture of it then no it won't fit but I doubt it is

Annoying thing is, I won't know if I have the right one until the old one is off -which will probably be a 'destructive removal' -I've even seen videos of people resorting to blowtorches to melt the plastic! Once I've done that, the reluctor will be exposed, so if I don't have the right sensor I can't drive the car without risking damage.

I have got the sensors out before but in the 4 I have attempted only 1 was successful. :( The sensors are sided as well by the way. right hand won't fit a left hand. As for driving yes you can drive. When I did my GTA brake upgrade I broke one of the sensors. I took it out and drove the car for a week with no ABS while I waited for teh new part. car was fine. Just flagged up the error when I started the car and left a tell tale illuminated all the time. Won't damage the car. It is an MOT fail mind ;)

Thanks for the input.

One last question: the Examiner report Alfaworkshop gave me cited the N/S/R as being faulty, and the N/S/F as being 'wiring fault'. Does anyone have experience of the latter, any connectors that should be checked before paying out for a new sensor?

yep. If you open the bonnet. Near the top of the suspension turret there is a yellow/ or black connector help in a plastic clip (one on each side of the car). This is the other end of sensor that is in you hub upright. I have circled them in red for you. the GTA's are black but my jtd is yellow. Unplug it and clean it up. Check for rubbing behind the wheel too. Perhaps the cable has become unclipped from the mountings
