Just wondering something,

if you buy...lets say 15 inch tyres at 50 pounds
and you buy 17 inch tyres at 100 pounds...

why are the 17 inch tyres SO much more expensive.....when the rolling radius is the same, and actually LESS rubber in the 17inch, meaning less cost to make..

so why are bigger tyres more expensive?
and before you reply with speed ratings, i think even modern 15inch tyres have a high speed rating...

15" tyres are used on more cars.

Economies of scale really, as if more are sold they can be sold for less.

Also, 17 inch wheels are sexier, so they can get away with charging more, the manufactures are playing with your emotion, fair enough really.
