Hi,

I just wanted to put a quick post up to say thank you to those of you who have replied to any of my posts, offering advice.

As I've mentioned in some of my posts, I suffer from anxiety and I've found that this has got a LOT worse since writing my last car off (which was virtually brand new) and replacing it with my Giulietta (which isn't!). One of the 'symptoms' of my anxiety is that I tend to think the worst when it comes to issues with my car (as well as issues with just about anything else!). A prime example being a recent post of mine where I was worried that my head gasket was about to explode but, following some good advice from fellow members, it turns out to be a completely normal bit of condensation due to my engine not warming up properly... Needless to say I now feel both relieved and foolish in equal measure

Anyway, I just thought I would say thank you for all of the advice that I've received on this forum so far - it really is invaluable and you've already saved me a lot of money. Yesterday morning I was all set to take the car in to have the head gasket done and now all I'm going to do is take the car for a razz to warm the engine up and get rid of the condensation..!

I will learn more about my car the longer I have it (I'm currently at complete novice level), but while I'm learning about it, it's so useful to have other owners who are able to 'diagnose' issues and present solutions without me needing to set foot in a garage and pay for the priviledge.

I'm planning on keeping my G QV for a good few years (unless someone can tempt me away with a nice black/tan or red/tan 159 TI or a 147 GTA..!), so I'll no doubt be asking more stupid questions in the weeks and months to come... You've all been warned!

Seriously though, thank you to everyone for making this forum such a nice, friendly place to be.

Speech over

That’s why we’re all here - there are no silly questions and we’re all here to help each other. My personal experience has been that the advice is invaluable and has saved me a lot of money, time and hassle, as eras letting me learn about the two Alfas I’ve had so far.

Apologies if my ‘try not to worry’ remark on your other thread was inappropriate - with hindsight not the best thing to say to someone with anxiety.

Hi Tulley1980,

I have had a lot of recent experience with family members and employees that have suffered from anxiety. I'm not a professional practitioner on this particular subject but in both cases I have found that people put themselves under a lot of pressure following changes in lifestyle or experience. Hopefully you've not suffered the following but my partner lost her father and an employee felt under extreme to produce grandchildren for his parents after forming a new relationship with a girlfriend.

I'm very sure that if you need any help with your car from this forum that you will get it.

This forum and its members are great. Help and advice are not far away. I joined a few years ago after reading forum posts and purchased my 1st Alfa, a brand new Mito 135ma Distinctive which i had for 3 trouble free years then made a mistake and bought some German rubbish. Luckily i saw sense and rectified that late on in 2016 and bought a 6 month old Giulietta 1.4ma QV line which i have owned for 2 1/2 trouble free years. Im now waiting to take delivery of a 67 plate Giulietta Veloce tct. I have spent the last few weeks wondering if i have done the right thing but heart won. Glad your G is all good

I was a bit worried about jumping to a 245 bhp but you just get use the power, the matt looks amazing, never had strangers chatting to me about the colour of my car before!

My mrs suffers with anxiety quite bad,she has to build herself up to even driving a different car as she can’t handle any form of change. I know easy for me to say as a non sufferer but take a step back and don’t get worked up about things there is always a simple solution.
Any car related issues post up on here and there will be someone who can assist and offer guidance.

Got to say I am a big fan of rosso on Alfa’s, but the Matt grey colour looks cracking on the G.
Thanks. I took those shots for our website and marketing material, that's not my reg. To cut a long story short me and my partner have been working on a project for a year with one of the UK leading wax manufacturers. We have created or own brand of specialist waxes. One for gloss and one formulated for matt vehicles . It's the only thing I use on my car now, around every 4 months with regular washing with ph pure soap. It does look stunning when freshly waxed. Will will be up running in the summer so will keep this site posted and all alfaowner members will get a 15% discount, )

I've been a member on this forum since March 2002 when I bought my new 147. I can even search back to some of my oldest posts . It certainly brings back memories. I've even got an Alfaowner fleece from back in the day!
