A panel that I stupidly (temporarily) held up with double sided tape fell down about an hour ago and took a chunk out of the work surface in my girlfriends kitchen I've been doing. Thought it would be fine for a bit seeing as it's normally ok to double sided tape number plates on!

Have ordered another £100+ bit of worktop and will have to dismantle the top cupboards again to get the new bit into position after I've cut it. FML. Just posting here as I cannot sleep because I'm so ****ed off about it - been working on the kitchen in various stages for about 6 weeks now and the end was in sight.

At least I hadn't tiled that bit yet.

Buy one of these. We have one on our worksurface and everyone who comes in can't help playing with it (actually ours goes more flush than the one in the attached piccy so I'm sure there are better ones out there).

Pop Up Socket - 3 x 240V Sockets - Aluminium and Black Finish

Still 60 quid, but cheaper than a new worktop, much less hassle to fit than replacnig a worktop AND a new gadget to play with
